Description
Clifton Park’s first settlement was along the Mohawk River within the present day Vischer Ferry Nature and Historic Preserve. Homes were constructed as early as 1680 and by 1721, Nicholas Fort, established a ferry across the river, giving the name Fort’s Ferry to this early community. To celebrate history month in November, the library will offer a special exhibit of archaeological artifacts from Fort’s Ferry, and a power point presentation by Town Historian, John Scherer, on November 20 at 10:30 AM, on Clifton Park’s first settlement and what became of it.

Welcome to our Adult Summer Reading Program!

Make reading a family activity! The Adult Summer Reading Club is a great way for parents to be reading role models for their children.

Anybody can sign up—not just parents. Summer is a great time to catch up on your reading, so why not win prizes for doing something you already love?

After you register, record your username and your password. Then log back into this website every time you read a book and write a few sentences about what you’ve read. You can choose to share your reviews with other book lovers, and you can read what others have written about their favorite reads.

Each week we will draw a winner of a gift card to a local restaurant. And at the end of the summer, we will be drawing for our grand prize—a Nook Simple Touch. The more you read, the greater your chances of winning…so let’s get started!

The program runs from June 22 through July 31.
