Program begins on Monday, June 18th and ends on Tuesday, September 4th

The summer reading program encourages literacy skills in school-aged children during the summer. For those of you with younger, pre-school children who are eager to be involved, we encourage you to create an at-home version of this program by utilizing board books and rewards of your own choosing. Please encourage and help your children read age-appropriate books and our librarians will be happy to help you with your selections.

Clementine's Letter This Story is about a girl named Clementine. The problem is that she thinks her teacher won't come back from his trip. The solution is that he does come back. The genre is weird and funny. I liked this book because it is very cute.

The Home Run King is about two boys whose names are Tank and Jimbo. They can't believe it when a famous Negro
League Player who plays on the Grays team stays at their house. This book is worth reading if you love baseball and for people who love just reading books.

Ally the Dolphin Fairy (Rainbow Magic) The story is about two girls who go on an adventure with the fairies. The main characters are Rachel, Kristy, and Ally. Jack Frost orders his goblins to steal the magic conch shell but they fight over the shell and it breaks into seven pieces. I like this story because it was funny when the goblins get scared of dolphins!

The Sea of Monsters The story is about when Percy finds out that he has a brother. The main characters are Tyson, Grover, and Annabeth. Tyson can be unharmed by fire, Grover gets caught by a boy cyclops who eats satyrs, and then calls Percy in his dreams for help. Annabeth comes to Percy's school. Weird, right? The problem is when Thalia (the tree) was dying so Percy, Annabeth, and Tyson have to go on a journey to get the Golden Fleece. I liked this story because its really cool like when Hermes comes and his phone has snakes named George and Martha.
