|Intro to Cloud Computing for Beginners|
Event Type: Computer Classes|
Start Time: 9:30 AM
End Time: 11:30 AM
Learn the basics of “cloud computing” and understand cloud computing tools such as iCloud, OneDrive, Google Drive, Dropbox, Facebook, Gmail, Yahoo! Mail, and others that many of us may already use, enabling us to have access to storage or software use on “other” computers besides our own. Understand the concept of “syncing” devices to these tools. Learn the pros and cons of such tools for data storage and retrieval, and explore current associated security issues and concerns, as we are still, in many ways, in the beginning stages of using this still somewhat-uncharted territory of computer use.
Location: Computer Lab
This is a beginner level class. A beginner-level learner is someone who has never used a mouse, a keyboard, or a computer, and who needs time with one-on-one guidance on very basic skills, or one who needs to review basics before moving on to other areas of computer use. Beginner-level courses prepare students for intermediate or advanced level courses offered by the library. No prior computer experience is necessary.Contact: Kathy Handy
