Darling Valley is a quartet of two married couples making music from the comfort of their homes in Albany NY. Sometimes the songs are folky, sometimes they're louder. They have released both a full-length record (2016's Crooked Orchards) and an EP (2017's Watch the World Go By). Both records are full of folk ballads, quick rhythms and imaginative lyrics, all rooted in real experience. Prior to those releases, the band released two full-lengths and an EP under the name Accents. Since then, multiple songs have been featured in hit MTV dramas and other productions. The band's unique blend of folk and indie-rock has a clear direction, despite - or maybe due in part to - the wide variety of instruments used. For their live set, you will find all four members playing percussion, on different drums, at different times. It all combines to create pretty, rich folk-pop with lyrical authenticity, even when a song takes place at sea or during a revolution.
"With their complimentary male and female duets and penchant for storytelling, [this is] basically what The Decemberists would sound like on anti-depressants..." -- Decoy Music
**In case of rain, concert will be held in Program Room A & B.
