Special Events planned for Summer:
Weekly Tuesday 3:30 pm Anime/ teen lub - This program is aimed at bringing people with a common interest in the increasingly popular genre of Anime and Manga together to share in the Japanese cultural experience. Much of what we watch is rated TV-14 or, being made outside of the United States, not rated at all. Some of the content may NOT be appropriate for everyone! Ages 12—21 We also will have alterative activities planned like Magic the Gathering, crafts, treasure hunts and more!
** Special Kick Off EVENT, Monday, June 29 5 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. - Super Hero Storywalk at the Lowville DEC Nature Trail Route 812 Dadville. The Lowville Elks Lodge will be sponsoring this event. We will meet at the Beginning of trail with Crafts and sign in. You and your family may go on a self guided Storywalk. After we will have fishing poles, bait and Elks members ready to teach kids how to fish. Enjoy fishing and Hot Dogs cooked by Elks members. Each family will recieve a book bag filled with Books to start you off getting Hooked on Books.
Tuesday, June 30th - Regular weekly programs begin. Check schedule for your time slot. Also, Ages 12 - 18 are invited to register for a Tween/Teen group outing to Oswegatchie to take part in the Ropes Coarse. You must be registered and have a signed permission slip. Only 15 slots available for this trip. Email dmyers@ncls.org if your child is interested in attending.
July 1 & 2 Babysitting Course 9 a.m.- 3:30 each day. Ages 12- 16 Registration required. email dmyers@ncls.org to register.
Wednesday, July 8th COMIC-Con 1 p.m. to 4p.m. Come in your best costume, Cosplay competitions, comic/ manga exchange ( bring one take one) maybe even some giveaways. Games and fun Ages 10 and up
Adult painting with Wilson Bickford 10 - 2 Children 8 and up may attend but the price of $40 is still charged to cover all supplies. Registration required.
Wednesday, July 15 1 p.m. Daniel Tiger will visit from PBS. Great Stories, photos with Daniel and giveaways.
Friday, July 17th 7 p.m. See Super Heroes! Be a Super Hero! Holy Famous Faces, Batman! Who is your favorite Super Hero? Which Super Hero do you want to be? See cartoonist Paul Merklein draw Super Heroes at Lowville Free Library.
Merklein combines cartoons, comedy and audience participation as he draws famous super heroes from comic books, tv and movies. Merklein shows everyone how to draw super heroes, and how we can all be super heroes.
Paul Merklein draws and talks at libraries, schools, colleges, conventions and special events around the country, entertaining all ages. Merklein is described as “An Amazing Artist”, “Funny and Cool” and “A Magic Marker Wizard” by reporters and fans.
Tuesday, July 21st regular program still in session at Library. We also will have a fair booth all week so come and see amazing Authors all week at the Fair.
Authors Showcase at the Lewis County Fair will feature Tina Trumble Tuesday, July 21st 10 - 4, and Daniel Middleton 12 - 6. Wednesday, July 22 10 - 2 Marcus Mastin and Joe Sweet and Daniel Middleton 2-6. Thursday, July 23 12- 6 Daniel Middleton. Saturday, July 25th Regina Drumm and Nicole Greenwood.

The programs are free and open to children of all abilities.

Programs will be separated by ages to better benefit our youth and to accommodate children of all ages. If siblings are in different age groups, pick the time that works best but programs will be age appropriate.
