Are you a Nyack middle school or high school student looking for extra credit on your summer reading assignment? Here's how to get it:
  1. Register for the Nyack Teen Summer Reading Program by Saturday, August 11th.
  2. Read a book and fill out a Note Taking Form about the book. (You can get these forms in the Teen Room.)
  3. Read a second book and fill out a second Note Taking Form.
  4. Hand in both Note Taking Forms in the Teen Room by Saturday, September 1st.
If you want extra credit you have to register for our Summer Reading Program and you have to participate by coming to events and/or handing in Mini Book Reviews.

The amount of extra credit given will be determined by your English teacher. Please contact Kim Naples, Teen Librarian, with any questions or concerns: knaples@nyacklibrary.org

Unless otherwise specified, all Nyack students are required to read two books of their choice over the summer and to fill out two Note Taking forms. These forms can be picked up in the Teen Room. We are happy to help students find books they will enjoy reading for this assignment. We have information about the summer reading assignments of all grades and classes in Nyack middle school and high school. This includes Honors and AP classes. Please stop by and visit us.

The Best Little Girl in the World was not the best book I ever read. It definitely tells you not to become an anorexic, but this book is not for those who find mentally ill people with odd eating and personal hygiene rituals creepy.

Phineas Gage gave me much more insight on the ghastly accident of Phineas Gage then I had before I read it. I always thought that Gage went crazy after his accident, but now I know that he merely became very rude and disrespectful. I recommend this book to anyone who wants to learn more about the human brain.

I loved this book!!! It's about a girl named Paige who just moved from Virginia to New York City, and how she socially and emotionally tries to fit into her new surroundings. She draws a lot to express her deep emotions in a sketchbook she bought in a little bookstore in NYC.
