How to Participate!
How do I join?
Sign up beginning Monday, June 22! Stop by the library and pick up a Reading Record and a list of our summer events. Investigate some great books and start reading!
Register in person, by phone at 454-4524, or online at www.salinalibrary.org.

How old do I have to be to join?
Every Hero Has a Story is the Summer Reading Program is for kids entering Preschool through 5th grade this fall. If you are entering 6th-12th grade, check out the library’s Teen Reading Program!

What counts as reading?
You can read to yourself, to someone else or have someone read to you. You can read books, magazines, newspapers, comics, or listen to audio books.

How do I report?
Write down the names of the books you’ve read on your Reading Record. Turn in your Reading Record to a library staff member each week for a prize. We love to hear about the great books you’ve read! You may report once a week during the program. Saturday, August 9 is the last day to report. Top readers for the summer get a special prize!

How do I win prizes?
Win prizes by reading! Bring in your Reading Record and pick a prize once a week from the treasure chest. If you’ve registered for the Summer Reading Program and turn in a Reading Record for reading at least one book, you’ll receive a certificate and you can pick out one free book at the end of the program. You’ll also be eligible for special weekly prize drawings!
