Hour of Code for Adults

Event Type: Computer Classes
Date: 2/5/2019
Start Time: 11:00 AM
End Time: 12:30 PM
Description:
Coding for Adults - one of the many benefits of coding, the language used to control computers, is the problem-solving aspect. The latest in neuroscience research shows that coding can actually be good for your brain! Test your logic abilities, and join us for an introduction to coding. All are welcome. No computer experience required.

The Hour of Code is a global movement reaching tens of millions of people in 180+ countries. Anyone, anywhere, can participate in an Hour of Code. Code.org is the most popular coding platform in K-12 Education, but itís not just for kids! It uses a JavaScript library of commands called Blockly. From a menu, participants place building blocks on a webpage worksheet that causes animated objects to move around. Hidden under the blocks, you can view the JavaScript or code representing each movement. All levels of computer skills are welcome. Basic users get practice with mouse and webpage navigation, more advanced users have fun writing programs for video games and animations.
